About Me

I hate these things. Honestly. But, here goes. I’m a lot of things. I’m a wife, a mother, a nurse, a Catholic, a homeschooling parent, and a little bit geek. I was born Anne Caddick and raised in California. I have a wonderful husband Dominic who is the love of my life. Together we have a big family.

My children are: Reagan (boy - 11), Piper (girl - 6), Bridget (girl - 4), Sarah (baby girl lost at 22 weeks 2/25/05), Ciaran (boy - 2), and Quinn (boy - born 11/28/07).  My husband’s daughter Karina (15) still lives in California with her mother and step-father. She’s fantastic and I adore her. I was incredibly blessed with a step-daughter who likes me, and whom I like. She’s great to talk to, funny, smart, and a good shopping partner. We see her often since my husband works for an airline.

I have many interests including theater, music, history, sci-fi/fantasy, and reading. I also am fascinated by pregnancy and childbirth and would love to become a midwife. I’m kind of girly and love a good Jane Austen novel, hot tea, and rain. And I am large part geek, being a fan of Monty Python, Eddie Izzard, Mel Brooks, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, and so much more. Since I’ve been using computers since I was 5, and on-line (back when you logged on to BBS’s) since I was 15 years old, I guess I’m at least a mild computer geek too. Actually, I tend to think anyone who used floppy disks back when they were floppy, thought “Tron” was AMAZING, or really wanted the cool gear in “War Games” also qualifies a being somewhat computer geeky.

We’ve been homeschooling since Fall of 2003 when my son started the first grade. Though he has started public school for the fifth grade, Piper is being homeschooled and we plan to homeschool all of the children.

And while I run around trying to be so many things, I manage to find time to blog and let out my thoughts, keep family updated as to how we’re doing, and keep track of our homeschooling and family journey. I think I might even have managed to hold on to my sense of humor in all this mayhem! I can only hope.

I welcome questions.
